IBCLCs are required to follow international standards of both competence and ethics (Code of Professional Conduct and The WHO International Code of Marketing Breastmilk Substitutes) to protect the public. The rigorous professional standards required by the IBLCE (the Qualification Examination Board) are the characteristics that distinguish the IBCLCs from other breastfeeding supporters. IBCLCs, with a thorough clinical observation<\/strong>, active listening<\/strong> of your history and wishes and emphatic support<\/strong>, inform you about the clinical management of breastfeeding and agrees, with your full cooperation<\/strong>, on the best and most feasible strategy for you at that moment in your life.<\/p>\n
